VSU Alumnus Tackles Stuttering in New Short Film

Myles Grier earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from VSU in 2011 and now he's tackling stuttering through an inspirational short film that he wrote, directed, produced, and starred in. It is called "Remember to Breathe in the Dark," and it is available through his new channel MylesGrierTV on YouTube.

During a 2013 interview with VSU's Communications team, Grier shared why he chose VSU as his higher education destination of choice after completing his studies at DeKalb School of the Arts in 2007.

“… after visiting and taking a tour, I was hooked,” he said. “I knew … [VSU’s] theatre program was one of the best — if not the best — in the state and the beauty of the campus, its tuition costs, and being far enough from home made my decision clear that VSU was my No. 1 school I wanted to go to.”

At VSU, Grier served as a resident assistant with Housing and Residence Life and as an orientation leader. He joined Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society, as well as Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He was cast in half a dozen films produced by students in the Mass Media Program and found his way into the bright spotlight on the Sawyer Theatre stage.
